WEEKLY REFLECTION
Fall Semester

Week One

8.21.2017

This week was a week to remember. With it being the first week of classes and meeting new friends, and the first week of starting Ambassador duties, it really was a wonderful experience. Looking back through the week, I was fortunate enough to have ability to help welcome the incoming Hispanic and Latino students to an event where other students who share the same background can come together and meet one another.

This event was very special to me. I was able to be on the outside looking in and getting to see the new students interact, laugh and enjoy each others presence. Others shared their inspirational stories that I will keep with me. It truly was a great time to meet the new students and I can't wait for them to enjoy all the UC Blue Ash has to offer!
Week Two
I was able to pick up many hours this week. Among all the events that I was a part of, the CYC with UC Blue Ash event was absolutely perfect! It was so great to see incoming students meet with a mentor and engage in conversations about college. It helps them walk through the troubles that they anticipate and talk about the aspects they enjoy in college.
This event really spoke to me. Seeing the incoming students smile and enjoy food with their friends and mentors was priceless. I am very happy I was able to help with this event something very special to the students and mentors.

Week Three
9.9.2017

THE BIG COLLEGE EVENT! I am so happy an honored to be an ambassador for such a wonderful event for students across the Cincinnati area. The Big College Event represents all Cincinnati are colleges where the students can come together, at the Duke Energy Center in downtown Cincinnati, for one big career fair and event fair! The career fair is meant for small and medium sized business looking for students who would be interested in working for a smaller business or even start up businesses. At the same time but on the other side of the room, we will be setting up an event fair where students can be informed about all the events and activities there are in downtown Cincinnati!
There are about 15 student ambassadors that will be helping with this event from about 6 different colleges. It was very cool to meet so many new connections from this event. I am so excited to be helping with this event and it will be such a great experience meeting with the small businesses while learning more about my home town. Please come out to the event October 19th from 4 pm - 9 pm at the Duke Energy Center downtown Cincinnati!
Week Four

Week Five
This week, I received an unfortunate call on Tuesday morning that my grandmother was admitted into Hospice care with terminal leukemia. It had effected her health nearly instantly after she was diagnosed. This week, I had the pleasure to spend time with her and my family. With all my professors, bosses and fellow ambassadors, I was able to take off the week. I am so thankful for all of the people who have helped me spend time with family this week. I know that my grandmother really appreciated me being there. I love you Nonna!
9.23.2017
This week has been a tough week for my family. My grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday September 18, 2017 at the age of 80, with her family by her side, after a brief battle with Leukemia. Born in Cantone di Introdacqua, AQ, Italy on July 31, 1937. My Nonna was someone very special to me. She is part of the person I am today. People always wonder where I get my positivity and my selflessness. It was from this wonderful woman. I will never forget my Nonna. I aspire to be like her more and more each day. From the large garden to the big Italian feasts she would have ready for every holiday. I will forever cherish all of the wonderful stories and memories I was able to experience with her. I love you Nonna and I will see you soon!

Week Six
9.29.2017

For week six, after being away from my ambassador duties for about two weeks, I had the honor to work with UC Smiles on Friday! UC smiles is a program held by UC Blue Ash that brings in local elementary students to our dental hygiene clinic to learn about the importance of having good dental hygiene habits. As an ambassador, I helped lead the students around the clinic and engage with the students during their labs.
In these labs, the students were learning about what causes our teeth to become stained and why it is important to brush our teeth at least two times a day. The students were really engaged. This was such a cool program for our college because not only our the elementary students learning about how to maintain good dental hygiene, but it also offers the dental hygiene students to earn hands on training in their field. This year, they have record of over 2,000 elementary students that were signed up for UC Smiles. I am looking forward to working with this event another time in the future!
Week Seven
10.06.2017
During week seven, I was able to spend time working an event with all my fellow ambassadors at the UC Blue Ash Open House! At this event, each ambassador is assigned a task that ensures the event is running smoothly and correctly. This event was packed with many students looking to start a college education. What is so unique about our open house is we offer to waive application fees if the student applies at our open house!

With the open house, students are given information about any major that interest them. Also we have tables for our resource labs and clubs for the students to see how they could get involved at our campus! This event is perfect for anyone that has a thought about going to college. UC Blue Ash has another Open House on the 28th of October so if you missed this one, we have another one available!
Week Eight

10.13.2017
Well we have made about half way through the semester. Each time I reach this point of the semester, I also like to look back at all the things I have learned this year throughout my classes. not only have I been taught such interesting facts about business, but I have made so many frineds this semester from my classes.
Now I don't know if it is because I am in my Jr. year or if I am just over thinking eberything, but this semseter has felt like it is the busiest I have ever been. Between work, ambassador duties, and classes on top of keeping a social life, I have been running around all over the place but the way I see it, I wouldn't want to have it any other way. I enjoy keeping myself busy and I am so thankful for the wonderful opportuinites I get to experience!
Week Nine
10.20.2017
There is a lot we can learn in class but from the stuff they talked about during this lecture is the stuff you can only learn by experience. Having these mentors talk about that really shows how dedicated they are and how much UC Blue Ash wants their students to succeed. I would recommend all business students to come to this event regardless if they plan on staring a business or not.

Week Ten
10.27.2017

Since the beginning of my leadership experience, it has been a plan of mine to start a UC Blue Ash College snap chat to help the students get more involved on campus and have easy access to information about events. During the open house, I was in charge of implementing the snap chat. It went so well! We had interviewed the dean, faculty and event prospective students at the open house. The snap chat had a pretty good turnout and we had several students message the account talking about how excited they were to come to the college in the fall. It was very neat to see how excited students were to come to UC Blue Ash in the fall. We had over 20 new followers and views on the story. I am very excited to see how successful the snap chat will be in the future!
Week
11.03.2017

During this week, I was working the admissions table during the Cincinnati Shakes event here at UC Blue Ash. I was able to talk to high school Freshman about all the great things UC Blue Ash has to offer. There were so many students that were interested in UC Blue Ash and it was very exciting to see that! This event was very cool. Three different high schools came to our campus and the Cincinnati Shakes group visited to out on a Shakesperian play for the students before they begin reading Romeo and Juliet. The play is a classic and the performance was very good! After the event, the ambassadors working the event went to Canes to get great food!

Week Twelve
11.10.2017
With the end of the semester running right around the corner and everything else coming to an end, there have been a lot of end of the semester projects and presentations between my classes and even work.

I enjoy working in group projects when I have a good team that understands their role of them team and complete their task. Throughout most of my group projects, I have found that my teams have been helping out with their roles. There will always be a group that will put it off until the last minute. Unfortunately, out of three group projects, one of my groups is in this situation. With little to no help on my project, I can only say that this will make me stronger and help prepare for the real world. In the work force, it is almost certain I will come across this similar situation and it is important I know how to deal with it now so I know what to expect and how to react in the future.
Week Thirteen
11.17.2017
I had the honor to travel to the University of Akron for a leadership conference with leaders from all over the state of Ohio. The event was put together from senator Sherrod Brown who created a group called PROPEL Ohio. This event focuses getting the next generation together on how to defeat childhood poverty and homelessness. Throughout this event, we had learned all bout the troubles in Ohio with the biggest opioid epidemic to hit any state. It was a great time to meet different leaders from all across Ohio. I am very fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to go and learn about Ohio and the problems we are facing as a state

Week Fourteen
11.17.2017

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! This day is always such a special day for me. I get to spend time with my family and friends whom i really am thankful for. This thanksgiving was a little different considering a loss of a family member, but it was truly a blessing to see how we all sent prayers and could feel her presence with us at the kitchen table. I love spending time with family because I am surrounded by the people who love me. I am so thankful for each and everyone of them. They inspire me each and every day. This thanksgiving I also had the special opportunity for my first friendsgiving! All of my friends from highschool got back together, made a turkey and side-dishes and had our own thanksgiving. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive group of friends in my life.
Week Fifteen
12.01.2017
The last week is here! What a way to end the last week of classes by having my planned event "Go For The Gold". It brought more attention than I believed it would. We ordered 50 cheese conies and they were gone within 30 minutes. The biggest hit of all was Just Dance on the xbox 360. I brought the connect and set it up on the projection screen for all to enjoy. I can't thank my fellow ambassadors enough for all their wonderful help. Without them or my event wouldn't be where it was. It truly was a success and all who came were able to forget about their exam worries and enjoyed food and games with others. What a way to end the semester. Have a wonderful break and Ill see you next semester UCBA!
